Description Are you a dedicated and detail-oriented professional seeking to make a meaningful impact in the nonprofit sector? Our client, a mission-driven organization, is looking for an Accounting Specialist to join their team. This is an incredible opportunity to support the financial operations of an organization that is making a difference in the community. Key Responsibilities: + Oversee day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations. + Track and manage grant funding and donor contributions, ensuring accurate allocation and reporting. + Enter and update financial records in the general ledger with a high level of accuracy and timeliness. + Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports specific to nonprofit compliance and standards. + Work closely with the finance team to track resources, monitor budgets, and analyze expenses related to programs and operations. + Help ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting regulations, like GAAP for nonprofits, as well as federal and state grant guidelines. + Partner with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and address financial inquiries. Requirements + Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. + 2+ years in accounting, financial management, or account specialist roles, preferably in the nonprofit sector. + Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, or similar platforms) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. + Strong understanding of nonprofit accounting, including handling restricted vs. unrestricted funds, grants reporting, and compliance needs. + Highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining accuracy and confidentiality in financial records. + Excellent communication skills, team-oriented, and able to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
