Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club, renowned for its championship history and excellent course conditions, invites a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Superintendent to join our management team. As the host of The Ally Challenge and other prestigious PGA events, we are committed to exceptional course conditioning and a positive team culture.

The Assistant Superintendent will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations and strategic planning for our 18-hole championship golf course. This position offers a unique opportunity to be involved in high-profile projects such as our upcoming maintenance facility upgrade in 2024 and a complete irrigation system overhaul in 2026.

Initial Priorities of Position:

• Assimilate into a strong team culture

• Help prepare for the 2024 PGA Tour Champions event
• Aid in the upcoming Capital improvement plans - maintenance building addition and irrigation replacement project

Key Responsibilities, Skills, Aptitude, and Knowledge:

• Collaborate with the golf course superintendent on all aspects of course maintenance.
• Supervise and guide staff in daily operations, ensuring high standards.
• Manage chemical and fertilizer applications, irrigation troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Participate in preparing the course for major PGA events, enhancing your expertise in golf course management.

Requirements: 

• Degree or Certificate in Agronomy or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in golf course management; supervisory roles preferred.
• Current State Pesticide License or ability to obtain.

Compensation and Benefits:

• $75,000 - $80,000

Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club, located in Grand Blanc Township, Michigan, has a rich history dating back to its founding in 1957. Originally established as a private golf club, Warwick Hills quickly gained recognition for its challenging course designed by Joe Lee.

In 1958, Warwick Hills hosted its first major professional tournament, the Michigan Golf Classic, which later evolved into the Buick Open. This tournament became synonymous with Warwick Hills, drawing top players from around the world and garnering significant attention within the golfing community.

Over the years, the Buick Open grew in stature, attracting large crowds and contributing to the club's reputation as a premier golfing destination. Many legendary golfers, including Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh, and Ben Hogan, have competed at Warwick Hills, adding to its storied legacy.

In 2018, Warwick Hills underwent renovations to enhance its facilities and improve the golfing experience for members and visitors alike. Despite the Buick Open ending in 2009 due to sponsorship changes, Warwick Hills continues to uphold its tradition of excellence in golf and remains a cherished institution in Michigan's golfing landscape.
