Responsibilities for this position include teaching undergraduate courses, research and scholarly activity, and university and departmental service.This is a full-time, 9-month, position with a salary of $60,000–$62,000 per academic year, commensurate with qualifications and experience.## **Key Job Responsibilities:**The primary responsibility will be teaching Exercise Science undergraduate courses in the Department of Health and Human Performance. Potential courses to be taught include Biomechanical Kinesiology, Anatomical Kinesiology, Fitness Testing and Prescription, Exercise Technique & Performance, Human Nutrition, Strength and Conditioning, Physiology of Exercise, Advanced Physiology of Exercise, Injury Prevention and Treatment, and Exercise Science Research Methods.Other responsibilities include:* Engagement in evidence-informed pedagogy to teach undergraduate students in classroom and laboratory settings.* Record of research or a willingness to develop in the area of Exercise Science.* Academic advising to undergraduate students within the Health and Human Performance Department.* Effective collaboration with colleagues across the university to complete tasks and goals.## Required Qualifications:* PhD, Ed.D, or other terminal degree in Exercise Science, Biomechanics, Kinesiology, or related field. An ABD will be considered if completed by anticipated start date of position.* Two semesters or more of undergraduate teaching experience during or after completion of graduate school or at least two semesters as a graduate teaching assistant for a lab.* A strong commitment to undergraduate education and a willingness to collaborate with both students and faculty.* Excellent oral and written communication skills.* CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) certification or willingness to obtain.**Why It’s Great to be a Pioneer:**The University of Wisconsin-Platteville, founded in 1866, offers baccalaureate and master's programs. Students within our Health Promotion field work in many different areas related to personal fitness or community/corporate wellness. The Physical Education emphasis prepares students for teaching physical education, health education, and/or adapted physical education in the K-12 setting. They also receive a coaching endorsement from the state of Wisconsin.
