*Job Summary*
We are seeking Professional Truck Drivers to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of commercial driving experience including doubles, heavy haul, and inclement weather driving. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and efficiency while adhering to all state and federal traffic, DOT, and FMCSA rules and regulations.
*Please note: This is a full-time year-round position based out of North Pole, Alaska. Drivers work 4-6 days per week. We do not offer rotational shifts.
*Duties*
* Safely operate Class A commercial trucks and double, side-dump trailers
* Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition
* Ensure loads are properly secured and safely delivered
* Maintain communication with dispatch and management as necessary throughout shifts
* Comply with all local, state, and federal traffic, DOT, and FMCSA regulations
* Adhere to company and MSHA rules and regulations
* Other duties as assigned
*Experience*
* Proven experience as a commercial truck driver with a valid Class A CDL and active doubles endorsement
* Minimum of 5 years of Class A commercial driving experience
* Experience driving in inclement weather, including snow and ice
* Heavy haul and/or oversize experience preferred
* Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving
* Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently while on the road
*Required Skills and Abilities*
* Ability to follow safety protocols
* Physical ability to put on tire chains and gain proficiency through experience or training
* Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
* Ability to work long shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
* Ability to use all required technology and programs
* Frequent sitting, with occasional standing, stretching, bending, and reaching
* Ability to lift at least 50 lbs unassisted
* Must have a valid DOT medical card
* Must pass all prehire screenings to include MVR, PSP, Clearinghouse, criminal background check, and pre-employment drug test
