Overview The Disney Entertainment Digital Marketing Center of Excellence Audience Strategy & Community Team is responsible for developing fan-first editorial, social engagement, and creator strategies across flagship brand platforms representing Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, Walt Disney Studios, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Disney+, 20th Century Studios, and Searchlight Pictures. This team manages community engagement, UGC and creator sourcing, campaign execution, and digital cultural relevance through deep audience connection and integration into wider digital storytelling workflows. This is a unique opportunity for someone passionate about building community and bringing the fan voice to life across some of the world’s most beloved entertainment brands. We have multiple Digital Marketing Specialist positions available supporting various Disney brands. These roles are project hires through 9/25/2026. The Digital Marketing Specialist will be collaborative, creative, and detail-oriented, with a strong understanding of all digital and emerging platforms and the communities they foster. They’ll have a passion for engaging digital communities, amplifying fan voices, and identifying opportunities for community engagement and UGC connected to relevant cultural moments and brand and franchise priorities. The ideal candidate is a digital native who is deeply immersed in fandom and internet culture, passionate about engaging online communities, and detail-oriented in both content execution and operational processes. This individual will play a critical role in fostering fan love, surfacing authentic community stories, and maintaining brand integrity across channels. Job Responsibilities Under the guidance of a Sr. Manager and working closely with relevant brand digital teams, this role’s responsibilities include supporting specific handles in the following ways: Community Engagement & Programming: Contribute to the development and maintenance of the monthly community engagement calendar across assigned platforms. Execute daily community engagement tactics including outreach, surprise & delight opportunities, and UGC sourcing in partnership with vendors (where relevant) and internal teams. Manage owned post engagements as well as outbound engagement opportunities to fans and talent; ensure appropriate reviews and approvals. Partner with other specialists to ensure community engagement ideation and execution is shared. Work with direct brand team leadership and Sr. Managers to validate community engagement plans and ensure alignment with brand and campaign strategies. This includes alignment with key themes, formats, and platforms to source opportunities; proactively seeking opportunities to recognize and grow engagement from digital spaces to events and premieres; collaborating to ideate new concepts that highlight fan creativity and connect with audiences authentically; reviewing accounts for outreach and engagement based on guidelines and best practices. Copywriting: Write engagement-focused copy and recommend creative assets aligned with campaign and brand goals; draft and edit engagement copy that aligns with brand voice, tone, and platform best practices; route to relevant team leaders for review and approval before posting; ad hoc content ideation to create new social concepts; lean into engagement opportunities to surprise and delight audiences across digital platforms. Digital Trends: Stay abreast of digital trends, fan behaviors, platform innovations, cultural moments, and platform updates to inform strategy and execution; collaborate with Brand/Title Digital Marketing teams & Digital Analytics for social listening requests; surface insights to inform content planning and engagement tactics; identify and recommend new formats and moments for fan engagement based on digital trends. Other Community Activities – UGC, Premium Mailers, Creator Content (focus varies by brand) UGC: Route assets to stakeholders for internal approvals; deliver final approved assets with proper timing and tagging; ensure timely delivery and accurate tagging in collaboration with publishing and analytics teams; curate content formats to spotlight fans’ talent and creativity. Creator Content: develop creator content with brand teams/pod for platforms tied to priorities or campaigns. Premium Mailers & Watch Boxes: support brand digital teams on event community engagement moments as needed. Surprise & Delight: identify and elevate superfans for special moments. Partners Secure review and approvals with relevant brand; liaise daily with broader digital and content teams to support amplification and engagement of studio and franchise priorities across channels; collaborate with internal and external teams through content development lifecycle, from strategy to final execution and delivery of approved assets regionally for amplification and support; liaise daily with teams for amplification and support of priorities across pertinent brand social channels. Qualifications Knowledge and appreciation for Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars or Disney+ and relevant upcoming titles. Minimum of 2+ years social media or community management experience within consumer-facing media or global brand. Strong writing and copyediting skills with a clear understanding of brand voice and tone. Familiarity with digital trends, fandom culture, and social platform best practices. Experience managing editorial calendars and working within approval workflows. Passion for storytelling, listening to what the community has to say. Basic understanding of digital analytics and performance tracking. Superior knowledge of social platforms and their native products; ability to adapt to new technologies quickly. Polished in presentation and communication; ability to find creative solutions and use data to drive content development and programming decisions. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Box; understanding of social media platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok. Outstanding organizational and communication skills; ability to manage multiple projects on tight deadlines; team player with confidentiality and strong judgement. BA or BS in Journalism, Film, Marketing, or related field, or 5+ years of relevant experience; familiarity with The Walt Disney Company’s brand and content. Preferred Qualifications Experience with tools – Airtable, Smartsheet, and/or Zendesk; experience with Sprinklr, Creator Studio, Keynote, Google Slides; experience in brand entertainment marketing or streaming services; experience with large, matrixed organizations; familiarity with theatrical campaign marketing, streaming platforms, or brand marketing. The hiring range for this position in California is $64,300.00 to $86,200.00 per year. The base pay offered will consider internal equity and may vary by geographic region, knowledge, skills, and experience.
