Northrop Grumman Electronics Assembler Associate

Northrop Grumman, a leader in technological advancements, seeks Electronics Assembler Associates to join our team in Sykesville, Maryland. This position is within the Power/Control Systems business unit of the Naval & Marine Systems Division. The Assembler will use electronic components, mechanical parts, drawings, and engineering documentation to build circuit card assemblies, cable assemblies, and wire harnesses.

Roles and responsibilities include:

• Obtaining all necessary information to perform job assignments and reporting discrepancies.
• Planning, assembling, wiring, and soldering electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment.
• Reading and interpreting schematics and wiring diagrams for point-to-point assembly.
• Following wiring diagrams to perform wiring using harness boards, tie-in cables, and harnesses.
• Performing electrical/electronic and mechanical assembly tasks as a member of an assembly team.
• Laying out and constructing harness boards to assemble and form wiring and cables.
• Mixing and applying bonding components and encapsulates.
• Performing product finishing functions as required.
• Using and operating a broad range of hand tools, assembly equipment, and safety equipment.
• Understanding the function of and using a range of electrical/electronic and mechanical parts.
• Working closely with other personnel and attending training courses for career development.
• Maintaining equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition.

Basic qualifications include:

• High School graduate or recognized equivalent with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• Mechanical/Electrical experience.
• 2 years of experience in electrical assembly and wiring, and soldering of PC boards.
• 2 years of experience reading drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Capability of successfully completing basic solder certification, visual acuity test, and in-house skills training.
• Willingness to work second shift, starting around 3pm.

Preferred qualifications include:

• Ability to read/understand electrical schematics or engineering drawings.
• Previous assembly experience.
• AA Degree.
• SAP or other ERP/MRP System experience.
• Circuit card assembly and rework experience.
• Mechanical assembly and repair experience.

Salary Range: $46,821.17 - $108,859.21. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
