Fire Protection Engineering Sr. Associate / Life Safety Sr. Consultant

This role is specifically within the SLS division of SOCOTEC. SLS/SOCOTEC is seeking dependable and proactive applicants focused on continuous improvement to join our team.

Senior Associates will work on our accomplished team to design and develop Life Safety and Fire Protection systems that integrate seamlessly with other building systems to achieve a safe and code compliant building design. Projects will focus on adherence to quality standards through plan reviews and technical reports. Projects will have components of but will not be limited to the following: egress design, code research, smoke control system design, fire-resistant construction analysis, performance-based design, fire sprinkler design, and hazardous material analysis.

Senior Associates are expected to have strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills to effectively support team efficiency and exceed client expectations. Associates should also be detail oriented and possess superior problem-solving skills, as seamless integration of compliance criteria aligned with the design intent for each project is SLS's ultimate goal.

Responsibilities include:

• Independently managing projects with supporting staff
• Managing assigned tasks
• Effectively managing project budget throughout all phases of the project
• Developing project scope and pricing for proposal preparation
• Preparing monthly invoicing and assisting in AR follow up
• Mentoring and training Associates supporting project work
• Performing tasks associated with project deliverables, including but not limited to writing code reports outlining the compliance approach for the project; performing code reviews of project plans for compliance with applicable codes; performing on-site inspections; conducting performance-based designs; conducting hazardous material/laboratory analyses; conducting special inspections of smoke control, firestopping, and fireproofing; etc.
• Performing all other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manage

Qualifications include:

• Bachelor's degree in the engineering or architecture disciplines required
• 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in Fire Protection and Life Safety
• Engineering in Training (EIT) Certification and/or Professional Engineer's License (P.E.) preferred
• Experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, REVIT, Microsoft Suite encouraged
• Experience with CONTAM, Pyrosim, FDS, and/or PathFinder desirable
• Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Strong written communication skill

SOCOTEC offers generous compensation packages including salary, benefits & bonus based on relevant experience. All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
