Intern - Real Estate

Interns in the Stout Real Estate practice assist with the delivery of expert valuation and advisory solutions to clients for estate & gift tax appraisal, financial reporting, purchase price allocation, litigation, purchase sale/advisement, insurance, condemnation, shareholder disputes, and due diligence. With a global reach, wide-ranging industry expertise, and clientele spanning the entire real estate sector, our services provide clients with the highest level of market insight, analysis, and transparency.

What You'll Do:

  • Conduct on-site property inspections and evaluations, applying professional judgment to assess relevant financial, operations and physical characteristics that impact valuation outcomes;
  • Perform comprehensive market, industry, and property-level research to support valuation assumptions and benchmark analyses;
  • Prepare due diligence questions and evaluate supporting documentation to validate financial, operational, and market assumptions;
  • Engage with key market participants to gather crucial real estate data and insights, exercising discretion to ensure data relevance and accuracy for valuation;
  • Participate in and contribute substantively to client meetings, management discussions, and strategic planning sessions, both on-site and virtually;
  • Perform independent analyses of complex financial statements, and interpret data sets to generate strategic insights and recommendations for senior leadership and clients;
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment in selecting appropriate valuation methodologies and key assumptions; and
  • Create comprehensive deliverables and supporting analyses of real property including presentations, analysis packets, and written narratives - relied upon by our senior level professionals and delivery to our clients.

The Intern will be part of a firm where the culture and exceptional client service is inspired from leadership down. Interns also interact with senior level professionals and clients on a regular basis.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Pursuing a degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, Economics, or related discipline.
  • Minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 required; 3.5 or higher preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel for client site inspections as needed.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word); familiarity with Argus preferred.
  • Real Estate internship or industry experience preferred.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US, without employer sponsorship, at the time of hire and in the future.
