Position

The position, Junior Accountant, General Ledger and Treasury Management,is an integral part of the accounting team and will report to the Accounting Manager, General Ledger. This role will support the Accounting Manager, General Ledger in preparing and recording General Journal Entries, conducting Statement of Financial Position Account reconciliations, maintaining schedules, and participate in the monthly close process in coordination with Director of Global Accounting and other key stakeholders. This role will also support VP of Finance & Risk Management and Director of Global Accounting on Global Treasury management tasks. Finally, the person in this role will participate in institutional audits and tax filing processes.

This position is hybrid and will be required to work in the office 2 days per week.

Responsibilities

General Ledger Management (85%):

  • Participate in Accounting Books closing process by preparing recurring expense, accrual, deferral, and other adjusting entries.
  • Record correcting and reclassification Journal Entries in the General Journal.
  • Participate in reconciliation process of Bank, Prepaid Expense and Fixed Asset accounts.
  • Maintain General Ledger in close coordination with Accounting Manager, GL to ensure that amounts are allocated to the correct accounts, cost centers and case codes.
  • Participate in implementation of processes and controls that ensure proper accounting of expenses against budgets.
  • In close coordination with the FP&A team, maintain budget-to-actual report templates for accounting system.
  • Based on the requests initiate opening of new accounts, cost centers or case codes in the accounting system.
  • Assisting during the internal and external audit processes.
  • Assisting with preparation and filing of organizations Federal and State tax related forms.
  • Assist accounting team in identifying areas of streamlining processes.
  • Implement approved process changes to improve monthly close timeline.

Treasury Management (15%):

  • Update the list of active bank account signatories with various US banks in close coordination with VP of Finance & Risk Management.
  • Assist A&A Finance leadership in keeping updated signatories for the bank files.
  • Work closely with office of the Managing Partner in getting banking documents signed in a timely fashion.
  • Any other tasks assigned by a supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in accounting, business, or related field
  • 1+ years of successful work experience in a financial capacity, with experience in GL management
  • Demonstrated facility with accounting principles
  • Able to work with high degree of independence, and generate high-quality output on a consistent basis
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must be able to work both independently and as an integral member of various teams
  • Commitment to strong performance, high standard of accountability, and openness to feedback
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and calm under pressure
