GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: As an extension of the management team, the Team Leader will be empowered and accountable to ensure the basic manufacturing processes and procedures are being followed though his (her) group. These include but are not limited to Manufacturing Processes as spelled out by our ISO system. The Team Lead is responsible to follow the dispatch list, manufacture a quality product and meet schedule compliance. The Leader is responsible for monitoring and recording of measurement metrics as required. The Team Lead is accountable to ensure the metrics within their scope of responsibility are met. Additionally, they are the key drivers, of the correction of out of control metrics.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Ensure schedule adherence by following dispatch list, Moving parts and racks and ensuring flow between sequential work centers are maintained.

  • Ensure operators are at their work stations for all appropriate start & stop times. ( disciplinary issues are to be handled through supervision)
  • Act as a “first responder” to filter problems that require a rapid response and problems that can be solved by the Team Lead
  • Verify and enforce Process Discipline within your work groups

  • Accountable for Direct Labor Efficiency
  • Accountable for Work Center Machine Efficiency
  • Monitor, record, and drive improvements for Work Center Machine Efficiency and Direct Labor Efficiency
  • Chart daily/weekly/monthly metrics as prescribed
  • Daily communication with supervisor relative to staffing (excess or short) to ensure proper staffing across the plant.
  • Set-up and run responsibilities as required
  • Maintain a 5S condition in your areas of responsibility
  • Train new employees per company procedures
  • Print reading capability and the knowledge and use of various gages needed to perform your tasks are understood to be a given.
  • Abide by company rules and regulations.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum five years machining experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS / REASONING ABILITY

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS

  • Computer training will be conducted by Ross Edison in weekly meetings
  • Standard work hours are 6:00am - 4:30 pm 4 days a week
  • Execute communication plan for department to assure goals and KOI’s can be achieved

      • Shown ability to effectively communicate to first shift via email or communication board
      • Ability to use syteline reports to manage potential late orders and jobs over 30 days.
      • Ability to use syteline for minor corrections of job errors. i.e. reopening ops, double checking correct quantities
      • Ability to execute priorities as communicated
  • Define gaps in Manufacturing process and related procedures

      • Knowledge of where to find missing documents
      • Moving of stalled jobs or people to keep production running as there is no support on second shift
