We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Personal Injury Attorney to join our legal team. *Duties*
* Manage a diverse caseload of personal injury claims, including car accidents, slip and falls, and other negligence-based incidents.
* Conduct thorough legal research to build compelling cases.
* Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and correspondence with clients and opposing counsel.
* Negotiate settlements with insurance companies and opposing parties to maximize client recoveries while maintaining professionalism and strategic focus.
* Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings with energetic advocacy.
* Investigate accident scenes, gather evidence, interview witnesses, and collaborate with experts to strengthen cases.
* Maintain detailed case files and ensure all documentation complies with legal standards and firm policies.
* Stay informed about developments in personal injury law as well as related fields such as insurance regulations to provide comprehensive legal advice.
* Provide clear communication to clients regarding case progress, legal options, and settlement strategies with transparency and empathy.
* Collaborate with the law office team on administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing deadlines, and supporting overall office efficiency.
*Experience*
* Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to the State of Maine bar in good standing.
* 1-3 years of experience in personal injury law with a track record of successful case resolutions.
* Strong negotiation skills demonstrated through previous settlement negotiations or mediations.
* Proficiency in legal research platforms including Westlaw and LexisNexis; familiarity with Westlaw’s litigation tools is highly desirable.
* Excellent writing skills for drafting persuasive pleadings, motions, and client communications.
* Experience handling litigation from initial client intake through trial preparation is preferred but not mandatory.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
