The Adolescent Psychiatrist is responsible for diagnosing, treating, and supporting children and adolescents with mental health disorders through clinical assessments, treatment planning, and evidence-based interventions. This Adolescent Psychiatrist plays a critical role in diagnosing, treating, and supporting children and adolescents experiencing a wide range of mental health disorders. This position involves comprehensive clinical assessments, development of individualized treatment plans, and the application of evidence-based psychotherapeutic and pharmacological interventions. The Child Psychiatrist collaborates closely with families, educators, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure holistic care and promote optimal developmental outcomes. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments and diagnostic evaluations of patients presenting with mental health concerns.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, including pharmacological and psychotherapeutic interventions.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments as necessary to optimize therapeutic outcomes.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and community resources to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support for patients experiencing acute psychiatric episodes.
  • Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential medical records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development to stay current with advances in psychiatry.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) with completion of a residency in Psychiatry
  • Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry
  • Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in clinical assessment and treatment of psychiatric disorders
  • Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology and psychotherapeutic modalities
  • Certificates, licenses and registrations required:

  • Valid medical licensure to practice psychiatry
