4 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants Job Description & Requirements Remote Inpatient Coder Start Date: 11/17/2025 Pay Rate: $32.00 - $40.00 Position Remote Inpatient Coder Department Health Information Management Start 11/17/2025 (or ASAP) Location Remote Job Description The remote Inpatient Coder is responsible for assigning diagnosis and procedural code using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding systems and monitors bill hold reports. This coder will be working on Inpatient accounts, must have Inpatient Orthopedic coding experience. Responsible for coding Inpatient records assuring proper MS/APR DRG assignment for all coded records. Communicate with the Workforce Manager when necessary. Performs other duties as assigned. Extensive knowledge of 3M encoder, Meditech is required. Must have a minimum 2yrs recent Acute Care Inpatient coding experience. Comfortable with hitting a 95% accuracy or better and hitting productivity standards. Knowledge of medical/surgical terminology. Soft Skills Requirements Open to constructive criticism, easy going and can change gears quickly Strong verbal and written communication skills An independent worker, someone who can take the ball and run with it Someone who is people oriented, and can get along with all personality types Minimum Required Qualifications Must have a High School Diploma; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Two (2) years recent acute care hospital Inpatient Coding and abstracting experience including coding Orthopedic accounts. Extensive knowledge with recent 3M and Meditech software. CCS, RHIA, or RHIT Credentials required. Strong communication (written/verbal) with experience in writing queries Must be technically savvy.
