Salary:

Summer Adventures 2025 Camp Counselor

As a Summer Camp Counselor, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe, fun, and engaging environment for campers. You will supervise daily camp activities, lead recreational programs, and provide guidance and support to campers, helping them grow and build lifelong memories. This role requires a passion for working with children, strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to creating a positive and inclusive camp experience.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Camper Supervision:
   • Supervise and interact with a group of campers on a daily basis.
   • Ensure camper safety at all times, both in group activities and during free time.
   • Provide emotional support and guidance to campers.
2. Activity Planning and Leadership:
   • Lead a variety of recreational, educational, and creative activities such as arts and crafts, sports, nature hikes, swimming, and team-building exercises.
   • Encourage participation and enthusiasm in all camp activities.
   • Assist in planning and organizing special events or theme days for the camp.
3. Team Collaboration:
   • Work collaboratively with fellow counselors, camp staff, and leadership team to ensure smooth daily operations.
   • Communicate effectively with camp directors and other staff to address camper needs and concerns.
4. Positive Role Modeling:
   • Serve as a positive role model for campers, demonstrating respect, responsibility, and fairness.
   • Promote a spirit of teamwork, cooperation, and respect among campers and fellow counselors.
5. Behavior Management:
   • Set clear behavior expectations and provide consistent discipline when necessary.
   • Foster a supportive environment where campers feel valued and encouraged to be their best selves.
6. Health and Safety:
   • Administer first aid and basic health care when needed, and follow proper procedures for emergencies.
   • Monitor camper well-being and ensure they are properly hydrated, fed, and rested throughout the day.
7. Communication with Parents/Guardians:
   • Maintain open and positive communication with parents or guardians, sharing progress updates, achievements, and any concerns.
   • Encourage feedback and provide timely information regarding camper behavior, health, and camp activities.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 15 years of age.
• Previous experience working with children or in a similar camp environment is preferred.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Must be energetic, patient, and creative.
• Ability to engage with and motivate children of varying ages and backgrounds.

Working Conditions:

• This position requires spending extended hours outdoors, in various weather conditions.
• Must be available for the full duration of the camp session(s).
• The counselor will be required to participate in pre-camp training and staff meetings.

Compensation:

• To be determined based on skills and experience.
