Brookhaven Animal Hospital , a premier veterinary clinic in Atlanta, GA , is seeking a dedicated and experienced Full-Time Veterinary Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for a compassionate professional with a strong background in veterinary care and a commitment to providing exceptional service to our patients and their owners. 

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Support :

  • Assist veterinarians with medical examinations, diagnostic procedures, and surgical interventions. 
  • Perform tasks such as taking vital signs, drawing blood, administering medications, and monitoring anesthesia. 

Patient Care

  • Provide high-quality care to animals, including feeding, grooming, and administering treatments. 
  • Monitor patient behavior, symptoms, and responses to treatments. 

Diagnostic and Laboratory Duties

  • Conduct and interpret diagnostic tests including blood work, urinalysis, and radiographs. 
  • Prepare and process laboratory samples, and maintain accurate records. 

Client Communication :

  • Educate pet owners on treatment plans, preventive care, and home care instructions. 
  • Address client inquiries and concerns with professionalism and empathy. 

Administrative Tasks

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records. 
  • Assist with scheduling appointments, managing inventory, and ensuring clinic cleanliness.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Veterinary Assistant in a clinical setting. 
  • Completion of a relevant veterinary assistant program or equivalent experience, strongly preferred. 
  • Proficiency in performing medical procedures, strong knowledge of veterinary medicine, and excellent technical skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly with clients and team members. 
  • A genuine passion for animal welfare and the ability to handle animals with care and empathy.
